All customers are advised that they should have a Marine insurance policy in effect on all their cargo, with coverage for their goods from origin point through to final destination, including any intermediate staging, transportation or warehousing.
Customers of Universal Warehouse Co. and affiliates are advised that all shipments, merchandise and transportation equipment under our control or custody are handled on your behalf with expressed limitations of liability. Customers should familiarize themselves with the Universal companies terms and conditions and the specific liability limitations therein, which are categorized under our basic areas of service:
Filing of Claims
Refer to the Standard Warehouse Terms and Conditions, the Trucking Bill of Lading Terms and Conditions, and the License and Storage Agreement page links, as appropriate, for particular details on the filing of any claims with any division. All rates, services and shipments are subject to the limitations of liabilities and claims policies for Universal Warehouse Co. and contracted motor carriers. All claims have time-barred limits. The Terms and Conditions, Limitations of Liability, and the Claims procedures may be amended from time to time and revisions will be posted on this web site, www.uwc-net.com. Any claims should be filed using the standard "Loss and Damage Claims Form" (see link above).
Warehouseman Defined
The terms "the warehouseman", "the warehouse company" or "Universal" as used in defining the Limitations of Liability herein and as used in the Standard Warehouse Terms and Conditions, specifically refers to Universal Warehouse Co. and/or Universal Logistics System, Inc.
